Interior: Occasional light spotting and foxing, pages generally clean, age toning to endpapers.
Exterior: Contemporary or later straight grain morocco, spines in leather, lettering pieces to spines, spines decorated in gilt. Rubbing to spines, spines a little faded, some minor wear and scuffing to boards. Small stain to rear board of volume 3. . Marbled edges.
Binding: Generally tight.

PROVENANCE: John F. Matthews (armorial bookplate to front pastedowns).

Larger 8vo. London: John Murray, 1847.
