William Cowper (1731-1800), was an English poet and hymn writer. Seen by some as being a precursor to writers of romantic poetry, Cowper wrote of everyday life and scenes of the English Countryside. Cowper was also an avid campaigner of anti-slavery. He was requested to write in support of the abolitionist campaign.

A charming three volume set.
