HAWKINS, Edward (1780-1867). Augustus W. Franks, Herbert A. Grueber. Medallic Illustrations of the History of Great Britain and Ireland to the Death of George II.

2 volumes. Frontispiece to volume 1, frontispiece (bound in facing upwards) to volume 2.

Interior: Volume 1 staining to top right hand corner of text block throughout. General age toning to pages in both volumes, a few repairs in clear tape.
Exterior: Later brown cloth (blind stamped to both volumes with Library markings).

8vo. London: Printed by the Order of the Trustees of the British Museum, 1885.

PROVENANCE: Ex library copy with stamps and inscriptions by library in places throughout, including ink stamp to title pages: “Presented by the Trustees of the British Museum”..

Please note that a later accompanying folios showing the plates were released at a later date by the museum, however for sale here are the two volumes of ‘Medallic Illustrations.. (1885) ’ ONLY and NOT the folios.

A scarce reference set for any medal collector.
