Interior: Occasional light spotting throughout, occasional marks to pages.

Exterior: Full Contemporary calf (some wear to spine, boards and corners).

PROVENANCE: Edward Parker of Browsholme in the County of York (Armorial bookplate) to front pastedown.

The Parkers of  Browsholme Hall, a Tudor Manor House, in Lancashire, have been bowbearers of the Forest of Bow since the Restoration. A Bowbearer refers to a historical post of an officer that was tasked with protecting, for example, Royal forests from trespassers.

A later volume of poems to accompany this book was released in 1765 making two volumes. For sale is just the 1763 book as described!
