A curious historical account, detailing various buildings including public houses, and the Royal Hospital and the Queen’s Elm- where Elizabeth 1st ‘ “stood up” for shelter from a shower with the great Lord Burleigh”.
Sir Charles Wentworth Dilke, 2nd Baronet (1843 – 1911) was an English Liberal and Radical politician would be Prime Minister- however his aspirations for this position ended upon his well-publicised divorce case in 1885.
