2 monochrome (sepia) photographic plates showing HAYNE HOUSE, DEVON.
Interior: Sporadic foxing.

A curious book that touches on the history of Hayne House as well as using partial dramatisation to illustrate the mood and atmosphere of the house throughout history. Referring to various members of the family.
“Everybody made it a point of honour and friendship to come to Hayne on this first occasion of the opening of the old house to the county after many years of partial seclusion… The two youthful heiresses of the old family giving a grand ball were an attraction of a rare value. So everyone made a point of being present”.
Hayne House is a Grade II* listed property that has origins going back many hundreds of years. The present building was constructed in 1810 in the Gothic revival style.
A scarce, part fictionalised (?) history of Hayne House, and of local interest to Devon.
