Interior: Nibbling to bottom right hand corners with loss to blank bottom margins- without loss to text (for around 35 pages), occasional light spotting, browning, and foxing, a few holes to blank margins,  a few small grease spots to title page.

Exterior: Publisher’s red cloth, some wear, rubbing and fading, corners bumped. Front inner hinges splitting to reveal webbing.

Chapters include: Slow Burning and One-Storeyed Buildings, Cost, Strength, and Fire Resistance of Floors, Steam Engines- General Remarks, Lighting Engines and Other Accessories, Gearing-Toothed Wheels, Calculation of Machines in Mill, Steam Boilers, Fire Appliances: Sprinklers.
