Coffee house tokens were issued in the 17th century for uses within establishments to pay for coffee and other goods, owing to the shortage of small change at the time post English Civil War. They had the name of the establishment engraved on the coin. This book represents an interesting account of businesses operating in London at the time or just after the Great Fire of London and details of the coin issued per establishment.
Fairly scarce.
