Interior: lacking half title to first part, occasional spotting/foxing.
Exterior: Blue half calf with marbled boards, light wear and some rubbing, red letter piece to spine.
Binding: generally tight.

Hugh Lupus Grosvenor, 1st Duke of Westminster (1825-99). Inherited the estate of Eaton Hall in Cheshire and land in Mayfair and Belgravia. Upon his death he was considered to be the wealthiest man in Britain. He spent much of his fortune developing these properties. He was elected as a Whig MP for Chester in 1847. He had an avid interest in horse racing.
A lovely binding with great provenance.
