Richard Burdon Haldane (1856-1928) was a Scottish lawyer, philosopher and British Liberal and later, Labour Politician who helped the Webbs found the London School of Economics (Vaughan, 2010).

Margaret M. Pirrie (1857 – 1935) was an Irish public figure and philanthropist and the first woman Justice of the Peace in Belfast, serving as the Mayoress of Belfast in 1896 and 1897. Her husband William Pirrie, 1st Viscount Pirrie (1847-1924) was a leading shipbuilder and businessman.
