Interior: foxing to plates and foxing to pages in places throughout, a few closed tears (including to plates), few tears with loss to blank margins but not to text. Pages are mis-numbered, (eg. vi and 10) there appears to be a gap, however – as per other copies, all pages are present (though perhaps lacking a half title), frontispiece (plate 24) is bound elsewhere in the book. Some old right hand margin repairs in white paper.
Exterior: Contemporary half calf, spine cover re-adhered, joints split, inner hinges cracking, wear to covers and spine.
PROVENANCE: Signature- “Robert Pete 1853” to front endpaper.
